Peterhead Port Authority wanted improvements on one of their vessels used for patrolling the harbour that was running a 42 year old engine.
Cleanboost made a significant difference in the emissions of this engine. Data was collected over a nine week period due to the demands on the engine.
BASELINE
We started with a baseline reading from which we could assess the improvements over the nine week period
VISIBLE DIFFERENCE
As CleanBoost gets to work actively cleaning the engine the pilots reported reported a visible reduction in the amount of smoke being produced
STEADY INCREASE
CleanBoost was working hard over the three weeks, which saw the emissions rising as the engine was actively being cleaned. The emissions peaked in week four as the carbon was being removed peaking at 907ppm
HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
Week 5 and 6 saw a steady decrease in the emissions as the bulk of the carbon had been removed from the engine, reaching 614 ppm
CRUISING TO GREEN
Week 7 saw a slight increase as the pockets of carbon were removed form the engine.
Week 8 and 9 are now below the baseline, achieving 488ppm by the end of week 9.
